Britney Spears has temporarily lost custody of sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1. In a closed-door hearing today (Oct. 1), a judge ordered her to hand over the children to ex-husband Kevin Federline by Wednesday at noon "until further notice of the court," reports People.

Though the judge didn’t elaborate on his sudden decision to overturn the couple’s 50/50 custody agreement, Federline’s attorney, Mark Kaplan, reportedly requested the last-minute hearing after Spears was photographed driving her two sons around Los Angeles this weekend, even though she doesn’t have a license, reports E! News.

Despite getting charged with driving without a valid California license last month — as well as hit-and-run — the puzzled pop tart continues to get behind the wheel. Her Louisiana license reportedly expired long ago, while a DMV official tells TMZ.com, "At this point, Britney Spears does not have a valid California driver’s license. She has an application pending that she never completed."

Meanwhile, if convicted of her misdemeanor driving charges, she could face up to six months in jail.

   I feel so completely sorry for those babies. I don’t necessarily agree that K-Fed is the proper one to take care of them, but I do think it’s painfully obvious that Britney can’t handle them right now, either. I just read she’s already handed them over to K-Fed’s bodyguard…2 DAYS EARLY!! I’m a mother, and I can guarantee you that my babies would have to be FORCIBLY removed from me.

   Just watch…She’ll be out partying tonight…

   Yep…just posted the same question myself. Seems like Hollywood is with you when you are making the big bucks but it can really spit you out just as quick. I am specifically thinking of all the pigs who made money of her during her bad times. She was a means to an end for all of them.

   I really hope that Brit Brit can get her life together. She’s having a really hard time right now.:(
